| Winner was John Phillips with 42 points. 2nd place was Rob Jones with 40. 3rd was Richard Wolsey with 40. Prizes were presented by Mike Smith. The trophy had been donated by the shipping company that Mike worked for in his year of Captaincy (1977) – they were based in Monte Carlo. The winning score in that first year was also 42 points – Mike remembered this well as he won the inaugural competition. |  |
